Turn to these two snacks when you are in need of easy football-watching treats!

On Thursday, we watched our team, the Cleveland Browns, while snacking on Buffalo Chicken Dip and Halloween Brownies. This football season is a little different for me because it is my first time participating in a Fantasy Football League. Somehow Gregg persuaded me into joining, and two weeks in, I am already regretting that decision. I lost my matchup the first week and my chances of winning this week are 2%. I actually don’t mind watching football, BUT, being invested in every single game is a little too much for my mental health. I never would have thought I would be rooting for the Patriots (Cam Newton is on my team)! Plus, being a Browns fan is taxing enough! At least the Browns won this week, which lessens the blow of my Fantasy Football League loss.

3-Ingredient Buffalo Chicken Dip

The one good thing about watching football is the snacks. Gregg had been requesting Buffalo Chicken Dip for a few days when Thursday night football rolled around so I figured it was the perfect time to test out a Whole30 version of Buffalo Chicken Dip. The Defined Dish has a 3-ingredient Buffalo Chicken Dip that I have been eyeing and was honestly skeptical of because one of the ingredients is mayonnaise and I am not a fan of mayonnaise. To make this dish Whole30, you either have to make your own Whole30 compliant mayonnaise or use Primal Kitchen Mayo. To make things easy, I decided to buy Primal Kitchen’s Mayo. If you really want to make this an effortless dish, you can get the shredded chicken from a rotisserie chicken, instead of making your own.

After mixing the 3-ingredients together—3 cups of shredded chicken, 1 cup of Whole30 mayonnaise, and 1 cup of Frank’s Red Hot—I baked the dip for 30 minutes, chopped up some veggies, and put my taste tester to work (who I might add, also does not like mayonnaise). The verdict: delicious! You would never know that one of the main ingredients in this dish was mayonnaise. What put me at ease was looking at the ingredients in Primal Kitchen’s Mayonnaise—all ingredients that I like separately and that I recognize. This 3-ingredient Buffalo Chicken Dip will become a football staple for us not just because it is delicious, but it is also healthy! It is nice to have a healthy snack among all the chips, cheese, and fried foods that typically go hand-in-hand with football.

The Cutest Halloween Brownies

To add in balance to our football snacks, I made brownies—brownies to cheer on the Brownies! I used all the easy options here. I bought boxed brownies and cookie icing already in an icing bag ready to decorate. I wanted to make these Halloween brownies because I got a new pumpkin cookie cutter that I couldn’t wait to use! To get more pumpkins out of my one batch of brownies, I used a 13 x 9-inch baking dish and halved the bake time suggested for an 8 x 8-inch pan. Before applying the icing, let the brownies cool—I put them in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes before I started to decorate. I know it isn’t even October yet, but who cares? Brownies, icing, and cute decorations are always in season. Because this recipe is so easy, it would be perfect to do with family or for a quick and festive, impressive treat.

What are your favorite football snacks? Because I will be watching way more football than I normally do this season, I’d love some suggestions! If I am going to be watching football, there might as well be snacks!
